SWEENEY TODD by Stephen Sondheim produced by Hamad Al Jenaie of Kuwait.

Congratulations to producer Hamad al Jenaie (Sweeney Todd) for the resounding success of Stephen Sondheim”s Tony Award winning musical in December at Live Theatre.

In December 2016 we were delighted to co-produce the International Musical Theatre production  debut of  artistic director and lead  character Hamad al JenaieSweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street by Stephen Sondheim by special arrangement with Josef Weinberger Ltd. Based on the gruesome, true events in Eighteenth Century England, which fascinated the public at the time, Stephen Sondheim’s dynamic Tony Award winning musical Sweeney Todd- The Demon Barber of Fleet Street tells the tale of the barber with a dark past. Due to his desire for revenge and skills with a razor Sweeney went into the ‘pie-making’ business with the disreputable Mrs Lovett played by UK singer/ actress Balqis Duvall. The pair was responsible for the disappearance of over 160 people. Immortalised in Tim Burton’s film, by Johnny Depp as Sweeney, the production was  performed at The Live Theatre between 07-10  December to sell-out audiences. Under the musical directorship of Richard Bushman, stage directorship & costuming of Alison Shan Price, set design by Diana Sfeir & D-Design and vocal coaching and accompanying by Harriet Bushman, One World Actors joined with AMG and nine piece orchestra to transport audiences to Victorian England.

We are honoured to have been invited by DAI Yarmouk Cultural Centre to open the Young Actors Studio in their state of the Art building and for our International Company 2017 to present the premiere, in April 2017, of its new production (to be announced) as part of the 22nd DAI Cultural Season under the National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters (for the third year running). We launch our Youth Actors Alumni of Kuwait  page this year and are proud to include successes in the entertainment industry.
